Pot of Gold Resources and Giveaway!
I am so pumped about this week’s blog series. Why? The resources I’m sharing with you are a COMPLETE hit in my studio!
Kids are smiling, engaged, interacting, and learning. Can’t get any better than that!
But wait, IT CAN!!
One LUCKY reader will win each resource featured in the posts this week!
I’m titling this series “Pot of Gold Resources” because these resources are worth their weight in gold, the LUCKY winners of the resource giveaways are striking gold, and we are less than a week away from St. Patrick’s Day!

Let’s get started with the first resource!
Have you ever wanted to incorporate seasonal or holiday games/activities into your lessons, but felt like you didn’t have any time? Time always seems to be on short supply with lesson planning, running your business, and all of the hats that come with being a piano teacher.
Well, I have your answer. Rather, Johanna at Piano with a Twist has your answer!
No Prep Games for the Busy Music Teacher
She has created a series of products titled “For the Busy Music Teacher”. These are wonderful no prep games. Did you catch that, no prep!
All you need are dice and something to use for a game piece. Then simply print out the games and there you have it…it couldn’t get any easier!
Johanna has a real eye for design and your students will be intrigued to play these colorful games.

I am using her St. Patrick’s Day games for my group lessons this week. I printed them double-sided and laminated them for durability. Students broke into pairs and played the games on each side of their page.
This happened by mistake…I forgot to uncheck the “Double-sided” feature in my printer options, but it was a happy accident! Students got double the fun and it gave students who finished before others another activity.

Check out the Piano With a Twist page to download her freebie: Snowman Keys-a piano keyboard dice game.
While you’re downloading that, be sure to grab her St. Patrick’s Day Staff Freebie that includes four pages, each with a different theme.
Use for composing, landmark note practice, spelling scales, chords, you name it!
Now for the giveaway!

My students love games and I am all about changing it up for the different seasons. St Patricks Day is a favorite of mine so these resources will be a welcome addition to my stash of games!
Karen, I agree! Changing things up for different seasons can be a great way to bring new life into lessons, to try something new, and keep students engaged.
Hi,
To celebrate St Patrick’s day, I will ask the children to do a little Irish jig while I play some Irish music. I will ask them to wear something green to class or discuss with them who St Patrick is. I have already collected a few pieces of music for them to play and they can decorate the music with clovers and pots of gold.
Thanh, I love that you are getting your students MOVING in your lessons and teaching them about the meaning behind the holiday.
I’m having each of my students sightread/study a piece of Irish music. I’ve been collecting the music for weeks now and think I have a good variety of the different levels needed.
Kathy, that’s great that you’ve compiled a variety of levels of Irish music. I’m sure the sounds coming from your studio this week will be festive!
Congratulations to Lizbeth Atkinson and Karen Miller! Send me your e-mail and your choice of Level 1 or 2 and I’ll get those to you right away so you can use them with your students starting today!
Come back tomorrow for more resource giveaways and a valuable coupon code tomorrow for another Pot of Gold Resource!
