I started having my piano students who are also in choir play different vocal warm-up patterns on the piano to get them comfortable playing in all keys, recognizing patterns, moving all over the keyboard, and to relate what they are doing in choir with what we are doing in piano lessons. I thought….”All of my students need this!” And it’s the holiday season…so the Christmas Transposing Challenge was born.
